Abril Trigo
Director

Abril Trigo is Distinguished Humanities Professor of Latin American Cultures at the Ohio State University. His areas of specialization include Latin American Cultural Studies, literary and cultural theory, theater, film, and popular culture. He has published extensively on Latin American cultural theory, with particular emphasis on the historical formation of national imaginaries and their articulation to popular culture. Currently, he is finishing a book on the current status of Latin American cultural studies, and working on a theoretical inquiry on the political and libidinal economy of culture. As Director, he is responsible for overseeing the development of academic programs, the coordination of extracurricular activities, and the administration of the Center for Latin American Studies.

Carol F. Robison
Assistant Director

Carol Robison was appointed Assistant Director of the Center for Latin American Studies in September, 1999. Her duties include coordination of events, program development, grant writing and administration, communication and collaboration with community partners, faculty, students, and colleagues at OSU and other universities in the US and abroad, staying current with best practices in language teaching and assessment, and evaluation of programs. She holds a B.A. in Spanish from Baldwin-Wallace College, an M.A. in Spanish from Middlebury College in Spain, and taught Spanish for many years in the public schools and at OSU before assuming her current position.
