Book Launch: Andean Violin Manual

Andean Violin Manual

3:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Zoom

The Andean Violin Methods Manual is based on long-term research and immersion in the cultural and musical practices of Imbabura, northern highland province of Ecuador. Researched and written by Andean musicians and educators, the book gathers essential aspects for learning Andean violin, presents an alternative study of the violin featuring the particular interpretation this instrument is given in the hands of Andean musicians, and offers a set of exercises/methods that draw on the local culture.

Development of this important book was supported in part by Ohio State's Center for Latin American Studies using Title VI funding from its designation as a National Resource Center. The virtual book launch event reflects an ongoing collaboration among the K'acha Willaykuna Andean and Amazonian Indigenous Art and Humanities GAHDT project, Ohio State's Center for Latin American Studies, ASCTech, and AWANA Network of Indigenous Intercultural Community Artists and Cultural Administrators.

Please join us to celebrate this achievement and collaboration!
