Posting Summary:  Provides professional level oversight and assistance to CIPR operations. Serves in the stead of the Executive Director of the Center for Inter-American Policy. Serves as primary Center contact and represents the Center and Center leadership in a variety of capacities both internally and externally. Exercises critical decision making authority in managing the programmatic, fiscal, and operational functions of the office, to include planning logistical arrangements that align with Center strategies. Makes decisions independently to ensure not only the smooth operation of the office on a daily basis but also the timely delivery of program commitments. Plays a significant role in determining potential programs, conferences, and symposia, as well as, speakers, guest lecturers, program venues and service delivery schedules. Collaborates with the Center’s Executive Director to formulate, communicate, and promote the Center’s initiatives and strategic endeavors.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES TYPICALLY NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY:
·       Demonstrated experiences in the social and professional conventions of academic and business communication and the ability to interact with individuals of diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds and at all levels internal and external to the organization in a professionally competent manner
·       Ability to interact with individuals of various levels within an organization in a mutually respectful and effective manner
·       Excellent organizational skill and the ability to accomplish work independently
·       Financial reporting and accounting expertise, as well as the ability to generate comprehensive financial summaries of activities pursued or programs delivered
·       Ability to travel as needed
·       Excellent computer skills to include the ability to utilize the Microsoft Office suite of software; knowledge of and ability to use presentation software, email, and a basic proficiency in using online scheduling software
·       Excellent bilingual verbal and written communication skills, to include the ability to write and speak in both English and Spanish

Minimum Qualifications:
·       Two years program development, management and/or evaluation experience

Minimum Education:
·       Bachelor’s degree in Latin American Studies, International Relations, Business Administration, or Management

Preferred Qualifications:
·       More than 2 years  program development, management and/or evaluation experience
·       Master’s degree in International Relations, Latin American Studies, Business Administration, or Management
·       Experience managing programming activities in an educational research institution
·       Basic proficiency with image manipulation and desktop publishing software
·       Marketing skills, to include web development and design, graphic design, and social media proficiency
