Within, Beyond, & Back: A Symposium on Ecuador and Migration
The Humanities Institute and Center for Latin American Studies is hosting Within, Beyond, & Back: A Symposium on Ecuador and Migration. A small Andean country of only 15 million, migration patterns within, from and back to Ecuador are unusually dynamic and complex. During the symposium, panelists will discuss migration histories, the networks and cosmopolitanism characterizing contemporary flows within Ecuador and in the Ecuadorian diaspora and the emerging social spaces created by return migrants and amenity migrants. The experiences and challenges of Ecuadorian immigrants in Central Ohio will also be discussed.Friday, February 27th, 2:30-4:30PM in 306 Pomerene HallRefreshments from Columbus restaurant Los Galapagos will be provided.
