Registration 

How much is it to register for the Symposium?
For those individuals participating in the Symposium (delivering a paper/panel session), registration fees will be published in March 2018. 
For those individuals wishing to just attend the Symposium, there is no required registration fee. 
There is the option for members of the general public to pay the registration fee in order to receive access to participant-only events, such as the opening reception, lunches, and keynote presentations and Symposium Participant package.
 
What does the registration fee include?
Registration fees include all receptions, special events, keynote presentations, as well as a Symposium Participant package. 
 
Are one-day registration rates available?
No, they are not.
 
What payment methods can I use? Do you accept checks?
Registrants may use Visa, MasterCard, or Discover credit cards to pay the registration fee online. Prior approval for check payments should be made by contacting the Center for Latin American Studies at clas@osu.edu or (614) 688-4285. 
 
Can I pay registration fees online?
Yes, registration fees can be paid online. Registration will open by April 30th, 2018. 
 
Can I pay registration fees on site? 
No, all registration fees must be paid in advance. Participants must pay by August 31st,  2018. 
 
How do I get a registration refund?

I didn't save the confirmation page containing my registration receipt. What should I do?

Travel/Accommodations

Are there less expensive hotel accommodations available?
Yes, we have made arrangements with several local hotels to place a hold on rooms for our Symposium attendees. Please click here to see a variety of accommodations options available, at different rates. 
 
Can Ohio State assist with my visa application and/or travel arrangements?
The Center for Latin American Studies can provide suggestions on travel arrangements and the visa application process, but it cannot make these arrangements directly. Are travel grants available?
Unfortunately, travel grants are not available through the ILCLA Symposium at this time. 
 
I need a letter of acceptance to obtain a visa for travel.
These will be sent out shortly after submissions are reviewed. Please expect to receive your letter of acceptance in April. 
 

Miscellaneous 

Is the Symposium open for all OSU faculty members, students, and the general public to attend?
Yes, general attendance is free. Participants (those who had papers/panel sessions accepted) must pay the registration fee. If any member of the general public would like to pay the registration free for access to exclusive events (welcome reception, lunches, and keynote sessions), there is the option to do so.
 
How do I know if my abstract has been accepted?
These will be sent out shortly after submissions are reviewed. Please expect to receive your letter of acceptance in April. 
 
My name (affiliation, co-authors name, etc.) is misspelled in the program. What should I do?

How do I withdraw my presentation?

How do I get a copy of someone's paper?
All Symposium materials will be made available on the website after the Symposium has ended. For full papers presented at the Symposium, you should contact the presenter directly. 
 
Are there scholarships or grants for student presenters?

How can I change the presenter of the paper while keeping the paper on the program?
