Linndsey Ibanez is a PhD candidate specializing in poverty, inequality, and economic sociology. For a previous project, she examined how the institutional arrangements and social organization of the small-scale dairy sector promotes human development in a rural province of the Dominican Republic. Most recently, she has been part of a project that explores the impact of the Great Recession on workers in Central Ohio, and she has worked with a team studying food insecurity in Nicaragua.  Her dissertation, which is funded by a NSF Dissertation Research Improvement Grant, examines how job-seekers mobilize their personal networks for low-wage employment opportunities in Leon, Nicaragua.
