The Ohio State University
March 5, 2014
8:30 am - 3:00 pm
The Ohio State University, The Ohio Union 1739 N. High St. Columbus, OH

Ohio State is hosting the 2014 Ohio Latino Education Summit on Wednesday, March 5, in partnership with the Ohio Latino Affairs Commission.  Under the theme, “Closing the Achievement Gap,” the Summit will bring together educators, state government leaders and community members to share model practices for Latino success that can be adapted and duplicated across the state.

The program will include a presentation by EHE professors Pat Enciso, Sarah Gallo and Millie Gort on current scholarship in Latino educational achievement.  Their presentation will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Senator Tavares and Senator Lehner, co-chairs of the event; State Superintendent Richard Ross; Vice Chancellor Gary Cates, Ohio Board of Regents; Dean Cheryl Achtenberg, College of Education, and President Hopkins, Wright State University. There will be breakout sessions where participants can share practical experience and discuss adapting model practices.

We also believe that students should be part of this conversation, so invite your students to participate.  There is no registration fee for this daylong event.
