Join the Brazil Gateway for their second webinar in this summer's series to hear from current graduate student, Karina Ribeiro, who will speak about her experience as a student and as a graduate assistant. She will also talk about the different student organizations she was involved with, as well as her internship and her offer to come back to the United States for work. She will share what it is like to work abroad. 

 

Karina Ribeiro

For six years, Karina Ribeiro worked for the Nonprofit and Humanitarian Organization Doctors Without Borders in different Human Resources (HR) roles. She had the opportunity to work in different countries such as Brazil, where she is originally from, Haiti and Chad, seeking to improve HR practices and implement more strategic and professional HR frameworks. In 2019 she finished her MBA at the Fundação Getúlio Vargas in Rio de Janeiro, and joined the Master of Human Resource Management at the Fisher College of Business of The Ohio State University. As a student, she was an active member of the community, serving in student organizations such as Fisher Board Fellows and the Fisher Graduate Latino Association. She was also an international student liaison for the MHRM Council and participated in the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. As a graduate assistant, she worked at the Graduate Programs Office supporting MBA Recruiting and Admissions. In 2020, she was an intern at Microsoft and is returning to the company in a full-time role in July 2021, as part of their Human Resource Rotation Program.
