As part of the Latin American Literature & Transnational Film Adaptations Series, we will be showing the film: A Hora da Estrela (Hour of the Star)

Synopsis: Macabea is a poor woman from a small town who moves to the big city of São Palo. After losing her job, she has to live in a small room with other single, working class women. After a visit to a fortune teller, she hopes to meet a tall, blond and rich man to fall in love with her.
