Latin American Film Series: En el Hoyo
DescriptionThe Fall 2015 Latin American Film Series will include 6 selected films on "Spatial Dystopia in Neoliberal Latin America". The film, "En el Hoyo" was released in 2006 in Mexico, by filmmaker Juan Carlos Rulfo. According to Mexican legend, whenever a bridge is built the devil asks for one soul, in exchange for keeping the bridge standing. The film chronicles the dreams, hopes, and struggles of the workers building a second deck to Mexico City's Periferico freeway.In conjunction with Columbus State Community College's Department of Global Diversity, this film will also be shown at CSCC on Wednesday, Oct. 21 in room DE 121 from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m.
