Ilan Stavans is Lewis-Sebring Professor in Latin American and Latino Culture at Amherst College. He has published dozens of books, including recently El Illuminado: A Graphic Novel (2012) with Steve Sheinkin, ¡Muy Pop! Conversations on Latino Popular Culture (2013) coauthored with Frederick Luis Aldama, and A Most Imperfect Union: A Contrarian History of the United States with cartoonist Lalo Alcaraz (2014).
