Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

07/01/11 – Dr. Reanne Frank:

Reanne Frank from the Ohio State University paints a picture of the foreign-born demographics of the United States, narrowing the scope to Latino demographics and unauthorized immigrants. She then addresses the health outcomes of foreign-born vs. native-born populations within particular race/ethnic groups, the health outcomes of particular race/ethnic groups as compared to non-Hispanic whites, and intra-group versus inter-group variation. Frank finds that with though immigrants usually have better health than their native-born counterparts, with more time in the U.S., health outcomes of immigrants worsen. Also, immigrants from places like Europe are less likely to drastically change their diets than immigrants from Mexico and South/Central America, who may exhibit considerable change in dietary behavior post-migration.
