We are excited to announce Ohio State’s Music and Spanish in the Andes Language Learning Academy (MÁS ALLÁ) 2017!
This week-long, performance-based learning experience will take place June 12 –16 on the OSU Columbus campus and is open to all high school students regardless of musical experience or ability in Spanish. This new opportunity at the Ohio State University emerges from a collaboration between the Center for Latin American Studies, the Department of Spanish and Portuguese, and the Center for Languages, Literatures and Cultures with additional participation from the School of Music and the Department of Anthropology.
In MÁS ALLÁ, students can expect to receive formal instruction in Spanish and Andean culture, experience Spanish-immersive music practice and enjoy other activities-based learning environments. Students will complete the week with a Friday evening performance that showcases the music and language skills, and the cultural knowledge they develop over the course of the program. Best of all, for the entire week the cost per student is only $299.
We hope you will help us spread the word about this unique opportunity.
