The College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) Rattan Lal Center for Carbon Management and Sequestration and the Center for Latin American Studies welcomes Ohio State alumnus ('05) and guest speaker Dr. Yuri Lopes Zinn (Federal University of Lavras; Brazil) to present on "Preferential sorption of N by clays: an essential control on soil organic carbon retention?"

Nitrogen (N) has always been linked to soil organic carbon (SOC) sequestration. In this talk, N is proposed to be a key component not only of soil organic matter but also to SOC stabilization mechanisms.
