Student Book Discussion: International Volunteer Tourism

The Ohio State University
January 29, 2014
3:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Park-Stradley Hall 120 W. 11th Ave. Columbus, OH 43210

Service trips are a fun and popular way for students to volunteer their time while discovering new cultures and experiences. How can we be sure that the service we do abroad is the best thing for the communities we work in? How can we prepare ourselves to be responsible global citizens as we encounter new worlds? Attend a discussion on “International Service Tourism”, a book of reflections on volunteer tourism in Central America, to share your ideas and learn more about the growing discussion about the positive and negative impacts of student service abroad. The editor of the book, Katey Borland, will be attending the discussion.

Please RSVP to Harmony Cox.
