Joanna Dreby from Kent State University asks the question: How do family tensions and accommodations in transnational or immigrant manifest themselves in educational settings? She conducted her studies in New Jersey, Ohio and Mexico, addressing the educational effects of family separation, mixed-status (some family members are documented, some undocumented) families, and issues surrounding mobility and deportation.
