2026 Latin American Film Festival

CLAS is pleased to announce the 2026 Latin American Film Festival, in collaboration with Cuyahoga Community College and Columbus State Community College.

New this year is that CLAS will offer $20 gift cards for the first three students who have a review of each of the films below published on Pragda's Student Critic's Corner. Click here for more information and eligibility.

The schedule for film screenings at Ohio State is:

September 8 - Chinese Take-Away (2011, Argentina/Spain)

  • Q&A led by Dr. Raquel Pina (Columbus State Community College, Department of Languages & Communication) and Nik King (Department of Spanish and Portuguese)

September 14 - Aztec Batman (2025, Mexico/United States)

  • Q&A led by Dr. Fernanda Díaz-Basteris (Department of Spanish and Portuguese) and Dr. Guisela Latorre (Department of Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies)

September 22 - La Salsa Vive (2025, Colombia)

  • Q&A led by Dr. Irvin Manuel Gonzalez and Celia Benvenutti (Department of Dance)

September 28 - A Bruddah's Mind (2020, Brazil)

  • Q&A led by Dr. Ana Carolina dos Santos Marques and Jean Carlos Carniel (Department of Spanish and Portuguese)

October 6 - ASCO: Without Permission (2025, United States)

  • Q&A led by Dr. Carlos Rivas (Department of History of Art) and CLAS visiting artist Herbert de Paz

As always, a streaming link will be available so that people can watch the films on their own devices for a week.
