Abstract
In celebration of Hispanic culture in the United States, students from Pablo Chignolli’s Spanish class at Westerville Central High School, in collaboration with Graduate Teaching Associate Valeria Wagner and The Ohio State University, will present a dynamic exploration titled “La Mudanza de Benito al Super Tazón: De allí nadie lo saca, él es de Puerto Rico” (“Benito’s Move to the Super Bowl: Nobody’s Taking Him Out of There, He’s from Puerto Rico”).
This presentation explores the cultural, linguistic, and social impact of Bad Bunny’s music and his performance in the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show. The presenters will discuss how Benito “Bad Bunny” uses music, language, and diverse platforms to express Puerto Rican identity, promote social equality, and inspire dialogue about Latino culture in the U.S. The presentation concludes with a reflection on how identity, language, and representation shape contemporary America, and how art and media can foster greater cultural awareness and understanding.
