All are invited to join us for our Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration on November 1st at the Wexner Center for the Arts from 4 -7pm. Activities are free with ticket and suitable for all ages.
We kick off with a book launch for local artist Rafael Rosado at the Wexner Bookstore. Rosado's graphic novel titled Call Me Iggy (2024) tells the story of Ignacio “Iggy” García an Ohio-born Colombian American teen searching for his place in his school, his community, and country.
We also feature reflections about our “muertos,” personal ofrendas, a "Living Altars" performance by the performance art group Taco Reparations Brigade, a limited-edition 2024 calavera poetry book, and a mini-comic making station with art by local artist Anthony Pomales! Free refreshments include tamales, and hot chocolate with traditional pan de muertos.
We welcome you to celebrate departed loved ones and participate in this vibrant Latinx tradition with Mesoamerican Indigenous roots.
