Add to Calendar 2022-06-07 13:00:00 2022-08-02 19:00:00 Summer 2022 BookBox Series BEFORE REGISTERING, PLEASE NOTE: The first and final session will meet for two hours; other sessions will be 90minutes, unless we have a guest speaker (BB2 will have a guest speaker, date TBD).  In order to receive CEUs and be considered for an honorarium for a lesson plan, participant must virtually attend 75% of the total amount of sessions. Additionally, participant will not be able to register for a BookBox the following semester (Example: You do not virtually attend 75% of the sessions in Spring22, you will not be able to register for Summer22).  Registration links will be posted and open on WEDNESDAY, APRIL 20, 2022 and will remain open until spots are full. You will receive a confirmation email requesting a mailing address--please CHECK SPAM FOLDER for this email--this will confirm your spot in the BookBox. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BOOKBOX DESCRIPTIONS: Summer BookBox 1: Exploring Latin America in PictureBooks and Poetry (FOR CURRENT TEACHERS) will start on Monday, June 13 to Monday, August 1, 2022 (7 weeks, no meeting on July 4). This BookBox is a general set of books focused on Latin American content. Each MONDAY, from 5-630pm/7pm, we will discuss one of the selected books (five in total) and ways Latinx/Latin American centered children's books can be used in the classroom. This program runs 7 weeks long--an initial session that is led by Dr. Enciso, sessions for each book and a final presentation session. Teachers can earn 11.5 contact hours/1.15 CEUS for their participation, as well as a possible $100 for a completed lesson plan (with corrections, should that be needed). We will discuss one of the selected books (five in total) and ways bilingual Latinx/Latin American centered children's books can be used in the classroom. This program runs 8 weeks long--an initial session that is led by Dr. Enciso, sessions for each book and a final presentation session. Teachers can earn 13.5 contact hours/1.35 CEUS for their participation, as well as a possible $100 for a completed lesson plan (with corrections, should that be needed).
