Over this past summer, twelve K-12 educators and Fulbright-Hays recipients from around the country participated in Ohio State's "Teach the Andes" program. Dr. Michelle Wibbelsman, of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese and the Center for Latin American Studies, led the participants on a one month intensive program in Ecuador and Peru. Participants explored the history, politics, language, and culture of the Andes while developing innovative approaches to teaching and studying the region, in addition to Quechua language instruction.

With the help of participant Aryn Johnson, Mike Zimmerman (Media Director at S.A. Nichols Brokerage) created a video about the group's travels throughout Ecuador and Peru. The video highlights time spent exploring cities throughout Ecuador and Peru, participating in a music ensemble in Otavalo, Ecuador, and more. Take a look at the video to learn more about the Fulbright-Hays "Teach the Andes" program.

Special thanks goes to Aryn Johnson and Mike Zimmerman for making the video, as well as Museo Otavalango in Ecuador, Centro Tinku, and Centro Intercultural Yawar Wawki with Director Ana Cachimuel for providing such educational and memorable opportunities!
