Simone Drake is a Youngberg Distinguished Professor of African and African American Studies. Her recent publications include When We Imagine Grace: Black Men and Subject Making (University of Chicago Press, 2016); and Critical Appropriations: African American Women and the Construction of Transnational Identity (Louisiana State University Press, Southern Literary Studies Series, May 2014). Her courses taught include AAAS 3310: Global Dimension on the African Diaspora; and AAAS 3260: Global Black Cultural Movements.
