Come join us at the library in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. Professors from The Ohio State University’s Center for Latin American Studies will be speaking in the library on a wide range of important topics. All programs will begin at 11 AM in the large meeting room.
 

September 26: Oral Narratives of Latinos in Ohio presentation and FAQ

Dr. Elena Foulis will be discussing her ongoing project of interviewing Latinos living in Ohio. The library will also be showing selected interviews during and after the program.
 

October 3: The Growth of Our City’s Latino Community

Dr. Jeffrey Cohen, an expert on the Latino community in Columbus, will be discussing the growth and future development of the Latino community on the west side of Columbus.
 

October 10: Contemporary U.S. Immigration Politics

A presentation and discussion with Dr. Inés Valdez about current issues faced by new Latino immigrants living in America.
 

October 11 (1pm-4:45): Dr. Foulis filming Oral Narratives interviews.

Dr. Foulis will record interviews of Latino American library patrons who have volunteered to participate. Recording will be held at the library.
