Mark Guerrero began playing in rock & roll bands at age 12.  He led the popular East Los Angeles band Mark & the Escorts, who recorded two singles for GNP Crescendo Records. As a Chicano and East L.A. music historian, Mark has written over a hundred articles, hosted an internet radio show, been a guest on numerous radio and television programs, consulted for museums, and lectured at universities.

Mark Guererro will present a survey of Chicano music from the pre-rock era of the '40s to the punk rock of the late ‘70s, with an emphasis on the careers of the speaker and his father, Lalo Guerrero, “The Father of Chicano Music,” and the music that emerged from East Los Angeles starting in the 1960s, known as the “Eastside Sound.” 

Pizza and drinks will be provided at 6:30pm.  All are welcome to attend!
