This lecture is the thirteenth installment of the Afro-Brazilian Arts and Activism Lecture Series by CLAS. Copque’s talk will be simultaneously translated into English. The event is FREE and open to the public!  Bárbara Copque is PhD in Social Sciences at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). She is a faculty member and co-director of the Department of Pedagogical Formation at the College of Education at Baixada Fluminense and the State University of Rio de Janeiro (FEBF/UERJ). Former Coordinator of the research group "Imagens Narrativas e Audiovisuais" (INARRA, CNPq/UERJ) and, currently, co-coordinator of Núcleo de Estudos Visuais em Periferias Urbanas (NUVISU, CNPq/UERJ). Bárbara Copque
