This semester, CLAS is teaming up with the Spanish Film Club to organize a "Women in Transnational Ibero American Film Festival", sponsored by Pragda, the OSU Dept. of Spanish and Portuguese, the Student Life Multicultural Center, and the OSU Film Studies program.
The Spring 2016 Film Series will include 5 selected films on "Women in transnational Ibero American film." The second film, "La Yuma" was released in 2009 in France by filmmaker Florence Jaugey. This is the story of Yuma, a strong-willed and rebellious girl from the poor neighborhoods of Managua, Nicaragua who dreams of being a boxer.
