Sérgio Tréfaut’s first feature, Outro País is a documentary made from archival footage taken by foreign photographers and filmmakers during the revolutionary years of 1974-75. Sebastião Salgado, Robert Kramer, and Thomas Harlan are some of the known figures giving testimony about those fascinating times when a small country on the southwestern edge of Europe disavowed its 500 year long imperial history and was on the verge of becoming “the Cuba of Europe.”
