Latin America is a region known for its passionate fans. Where soccer and baseball, in particular, dominate as
national pastimes, the link between sports entertainment, race and gender relationships, politics and national
identify have been closely examined.
This institute focuses on sporting passions and what they reveal about
patterns of Latin American urbanization, modernization and the rise of mass society.
Cost: $95
(includes continental breakfasts, lunches, and materials)
Dorm housing is available for $55/night.
1-3 graduate credits (History) available for additional cost through the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (will require
