CLAS supports six students with FLAS Fellowships in Summer 2021

FLAS

With support from its US Department of Education Title VI grant, the Center for Latin American Studies supported three undergraduate students and three graduate students with Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowships in Summer 2021. Summer FLAS fellows receive support to participate in intensive language study at approved programs in the U.S. or abroad. This year’s fellows are:

  • Sadler Kirk, Department of Spanish & Portuguese, studying Quechua with Dr. Carmen Cazorla Zen
  • Sarah Wade, Department of Spanish & Portuguese, studying Quechua with Dr. Carmen Cazorla Zen
  • Micah Unzueta, Department of Spanish & Portuguese, studying Quechua through Centro Tinku
  • Deborah Waughtal, Department of Spanish & Portuguese, studying Quechua through Centro Tinku
  • Clara Hach, John Glenn College of Public Affairs, studying Portuguese through Tulane: Summer in Brazil
  • Gabriel Zeballos, Department of Geography, studying Quechua through Centro Tinku
