Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Anna Bulkowski  is a 2020-2021 FLAS fellow studying Portuguese

"As a future lawyer, I think it is incredibly important to not only be able to communicate with a wide range of people, but to be culturally competent as well. One of the best ways I have learned to grow in this area is by studying another language. I am proficient in Spanish and want to continue to grow and learn by taking Portuguese classes. I am specifically drawn to Portuguese due to its significance in Latin America. This is a region full of diversity and culture that I have always been interested in learning about.

After law school, I plan on working at a nonprofit or legal aid organization. I am mostly interested in being employed somewhere with a holistic approach that allows me to work within the intersectionality of juvenile justice, immigration, and/or disability rights."
