Gabriel Zeballos

Gabriel Zeballos is a 2020-2021 FLAS fellow studying Quechua.

"I am learning Quechua in order to be able to communicate with the native people that live in the Andes of South America and to understand better the Andean Culture, from which I belong. I am a Bolivian Geographer and I would love to live and work in the Andes. I aspire to be a connector between the people from the cities and from the countryside. Working in academic environments, or in research institutions, my goal is to empower indigenous people that want to work in science and to help the society to preserve and respect the local culture, the land and the nature of the territory of my ancestors."
