Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Gabriel Zeballos Castellón

Gabriel Zeballos Castellón is a 2021-2022 graduate FLAS fellow studying Quechua.

"I study Quechua because I work on ecosystems that lie on indigenous land of people that belong to the Quechua and Aymara Cultures. I believe that knowing Quechua will help me understand better the problematic that the communities in the Andean mountains are experiencing due to the climate change.

I plan to stay in academia either as a researcher or a professor, or both. I don't mind living in North America or Europe as long as I am able to come back to the Andes every year for research."
