Last month, the Center for Latin American Studies, alongside other OSU area studies centers, successfully completed the 2019 Global Teacher Seminar entitled, "Global Environmental Issues: The Problems, Solution and Potential Outcomes," from June 3-7, 2019.

This weeklong program aimed to inform K-12 teachers on environmental issues related to the natural resources of various countries within Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East. Twenty teachers from 17 districts throughout the state, including Cleveland and greater central Ohio, participated in this year's institute. While at OSU, teachers sat in on expert lectures, contributed to group discussions, and completed lesson plans.
