MÁS ALLÁ Summer Camp Returns!

Mas Alla Camp Flyer

MÁS ALLÁ is back at the Ohio State University where in a single week students can learn how to play Andean panpipes and other instruments, have an immersive Spanish-language experience, and learn about Andean culture by performing it.

The Music and Spanish in the Andes Language Learning Academy (MÁS ALLÁ) had great success in 2017.  Students told us that the program increased their confidence and gave them an opportunity to stretch their Spanish abilities: “This program made me far more confident in my Spanish abilities” &  “We got to really interact in Spanish; it was all conversational Spanish.”

This performance-based learning experience will take place from June 11 – 15 and is open to all high school students regardless of musical experience or ability in Spanish.  Camp instructors are OSU graduate students with specializations in Hispanic-Linguistics, Ethnomusicology and Cultural Anthropology.

In MÁS ALLÁ, students can expect to receive formal lessons in Spanish and Andean culture, have opportunities to interact informally with native Spanish speakers, engage in Spanish-immersive music practice and other exciting activities, and experience life on a college campus.  Best of all, the cost for the entire week is only $299!

We hope you will help us spread the word about this valuable opportunity.  Visit our website https://u.osu.edu/masalla/ to learn more!
