Dr. Martinez-Gil was born in Moaña, Pontevedra Province, Galicia, Spain but has lived in Germany and England.  He worked as an assistant lector at Salford University, Manchester, England and as an Assistant Professor at Georgetown University and The Ohio State University after completing his education at the University of Salamanca, Spain, and the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California.
