My research applies an evolutionary and critical biocultural perspective to the study of nutritional anthropology, food security and reproductive energetics. My regional area of focus is Latin America where I have conducted original field work in the Amazon Basin and Atlantic Coast forests of Brazil and in Central Nicaragua. Details on my specific research topics and related publications can be found on my website. I co-direct the Human Biological Anthropology Laboratory (HBAL) along with Dr. Doug Crews. Together we offer undergraduate and graduate students international research opportunities and access to lab facilities to conduct original field and lab studies.
