
The Center for Latin American Studies, in collaboration with Union Institute & University's Institute for Social Justice, presents a new series of conversations called, "Inclusive Language Across Latin America". This series will take place on Zoom, starting in October 2021. All events are FREE and open to the public! Registration is required to receive the Zoom link (see links below).

The series seeks to offer a panorama of so-called "inclusive language" in Spanish, Portuguese, and three indigenous languages of Latin America in terms of its linguistic manifestation (Sp. Latinx, argentinos/as, hijes, compañer@s, etc.), its adoption by speakers, its relationship to gender roles and cultural norms, its connection to social movements and human rights, etc. Each conversation is led by a diverse team of panelists with unique expertise and perspectives who will educate and challenge us on these topics.
