The “Latin America and the World” Film Festival had its third screening last night (September 21, 2023) with a showing of Perro Bomba (2019, Chile/France), with the collaboration of Dr. Ryan Joyce, from the French and Italian Department, and Dr. Sebastian Muñoz, from the Spanish and Portuguese Department as panelists. The film tells the story of Steevens, a Haitian immigrant in Chile, whose life is disrupted when a childhood friend, Junior, arrives in Chile, seeking assistance to establish himself in this new country. After many incidents,  Steevens loses his working documents and, now without a job, has to vacate his home and is left to wander the city, looking for a chance to restart his life beyond the margins of society.
